The temperatures are rising and the kids are out of school. What’s there to do? In
Fountain Park there’s plenty to keep the kids busy. The Town of Fountain Hills Rotary Centennial Splash is a great way to keep cool, it’s open from 9a.m. to sunset every day through September 29th. If you work up an appetite, stop in at any of more than 40 restaurants and cafes to get bite to eat or to take it with you and make it a picnic in Fountain Park. You can picnic in the shade of a tree or grab a table in one of the shaded ramadas. OYO yogurt has the perfect treat on a hot day – build your own sundae with a choice of 16 flavors and even more toppings.
When the sun goes down the music in Fountain Hills heats up with jazz, rock, blues
and country music options at the restaurants and bars in town.

Now in its 28th year, this three day juried art fair features nearly 480 artists and
artisans from across the United States and around the globe, and attracts 200,000+ visitors.
Food booths, beer garden and seating areas abound throughout the venue, with great breakfast, lunch and rest stops situated at locations in the middle and at both ends of the festival area.

2013 FOUNTAIN FESTIVAL OF ARTS & CRAFTS

The Fountain Festival of Arts & Crafts and the Fountain Hills Great Fair are sister events that take place in downtown Fountain Hills every November and February.
The inaugural Fountain Festival of Arts and Crafts was held in 1974 with just 60 artists. Then in 1986 the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce launched The Great Fair. These two signature events annually showcase Fountain Hills as the unique, arts-oriented community as it is known as. Approximately 250,000 people attend each show, each year, coming from across the country and around the world.
Both shows are juried with some 500 artists and artisans exhibiting their work at each festival. The artists come from all over the US, as well as, from various countries across the globe. In all, over 40 of the 50 US states have had artists at the festivals, as have the countries of Canada, England, Belgium, France, Israel and El Salvador. At any given show, some 30 – 35 states are represented.
The Fountain Festival of Arts & Crafts features nearly 500 artists, artisans, live music, food vendors and beer garden. It’s the perfect place to do holiday shopping, purchase art and enjoy good food and live entertainment. Many of the artists at the Fountain Festival offer unique holiday themed ornaments that have become family tradition.
Live music, abundant breakfast and lunch selections and shaded seating areas make this a great way to spend the day in Fountain Hills.

Hiking & Biking
Fountain Hills is a hikers paradise. Panoramic views of the surrounding mountains beckon you take a hike in the Sonoran Desert at the McDowell Mountain Regional Park and McDowell Mountain Preserve. With more than 55 miles of trails and connectivity to the Scottsdale Preserve there is nothing stopping you from hiking to your heart’s content.
Cyclovia Coming in April
On Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 10am-5pm, the town of Fountain Hills will close the Avenue of the Fountains to vehicular traffic to celebrate healthy lifestyles for the first Cyclovia Fountain Hills.
According to Wikipedia, Cyclovia (siklɵˈviə) is a term which translates from Spanish into English as “bike path,” referring to either a permanently designated bicycle route or the closing of city streets to automobiles for the enjoyment of cyclists and public alike.
Cyclovia Fountain Hill is a free event, that welcomes cycling enthusiasts, walkers, runners, skaters, strollers, and all others to experience our “open streets” to meet their neighbors, learn about their community, take part in a variety of physical activities, and enjoy local vendors, foods and drinks. Immediately following Cyclovia will be a concert in Fountain Park from 5 – 9:30pm
